Very good communicator. Both listened and explained thoroughly

Dr. Mandese is absolutely amazing. I was referred to him by one of his colleagues, Dr. Darlington ( who is also amazing) because I developed double vision. Dr. Mandese ordered an MRI to rule out any physiological reason such as a tumor. The conclusion was that it was probably something I dealt with my whole life but never noticed until I got older. He prescribed prism glasses and fixed my eyesight. We follow up annually. The amazing thing is that their practice is always extremely busy but he always takes the time to ensure every question is answered and every concern is addressed. I would recommend him and Dr. Darlington to anybody who needs quality eye care.

What I like best about Dr. Mandese is he listens to what you are saying and he responds appropriately. He answers all your questions and does not rush.

Pleasant staff Dr Darlington was very nice and appears confident and knowledgeable. My issue was pretty straightforward so I didn’t need to spend much time with him. I spoke with other patients while waiting and heard many positive things about him. There was a wait but that’s to be expected these days.

Never got to see Dr. Mandese. I had an 8:10 appointment and arrived at 8:00. I was only the second person there. After 45 minutes, and 8 other people being called, I went to the desk to ask what was going on. After a moment the woman said they had to check something first. Then she asked if I wanted to check-in. I HADN'T been checked in yet!!! Who knows how long I would have been there if I hadn't gone up to the desk! I told her to cancel my appointment. I'll never go back.

Dr Straut is very good and thorough and kind. Highly recommend him for all eye care. 2 years ago he found a very rare form of cancer in my eye and he and Dr Galiban recommended I see an oncology ophthalmologist in Miami. I’m very grateful to them and thank them for helping save my life.

Prompt, courteous, efficient operation. I checked in on time, waited in the waiting room for only a few minutes. Was escorted to the prep area and prepared for the surgery by Belle most efficiently and pleasantly. I rested on the operating table, got my anesthetics and Dr. Darlington came and performed the surgery in short order and I was on the way back home less than two hours after I arrived. The whole process from the initial decision to have the operations to the follow-up visits to the performing surgeon to the responsible optometrist is very efficient and very well executed to doctors and staff alike.

Dr. Darlington is an exceptional ophthalmologist and experienced surgeon with highly specialized skills. His office is equipped with the latest technology, and his staff are friendly and welcoming to patients. They handle a large patient volume with cheerful efficiency and grace. I feel very blessed to have found this group of dedicated professionals.

The only thing I really didn’t like is they wheeled me out in a wheelchair and I was still as high as a kite during the drive home from Anastasia. On my first visit, staff and techs were friendly and helpful. The office was very busy , but operations looked organized. Dr Darlington was friendly and professional. He answered my cataract questions thoroughly and didn’t talk down to me. Pleasant experience.

Doctors are great. Lost a star over the shuffling from waiting room to exam room. I am not very mobile, have to use a walker, Hallways are narrow, rooms are small, and I had to move from waiting room to exam room three times. Also, there are not enough handicap parking spaces.

Having cataract surgery was scary but it was really quite easy and quick. Still healing right now though.

I was lazy & hadn't found an eye doctor since I moved to Florida. I had an amazing first experience here! The front desk receptionists, the nurses who did some of the eye check & Dr. Straut were all fantastic! Everyone was great. :)

I've been a patient of Dr.Mandese since 2019. I was on an antibiotic that required eye care every 90 days to prevent blindness. Dr. Mandese took this very seriously and took very good care of me. The staff works well together and are always able to get me in when an emergency pops up. I definitely recommend Atlantic Eye Consultants.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my initial experience at this practice warrants honest feedback. Dr. Darlington demonstrated very little in the way of bedside manner, and as a professional myself, I recognize the importance of authentic, respectful communication. He came across as dismissive and rushed, and the interaction lacked even the most basic elements of patient-centered care. I left feeling unheard and unsure whether my concerns were taken seriously. I also observed similar behavior toward his staff, which contributed to an overall sense of tension and negative energy throughout the office.

We originally came to Dr Straut for a special piece of equipment he had that no other in the area had. We made the move permanent for the extraordinary care we receive from him and his staff.

I saw Dr. Darlington on my first visit and to be honest……. what I experienced was a very poor bedside manner—dismissive, rushed, and lacking in basic patient communication. The interaction felt cold and unprofessional, and I did not feel that my concerns were heard or taken seriously. I also observed this similar behavior directed toward the staff as I was checking out. This negative energy wasn’t personal after-all, I guess that is just who he is but it contributed to an overall negative environment. I returned the following day and had a profoundly different experience! I saw Dr. Straut and it felt like I was at a completely different practice. The overall difference from the staff and environment in general was striking. My second visit was everything a medical experience should be—attentive, respectful, and patient-focused. Dr. Straut took the time to listen, explain, and ensure I felt comfortable with my care. It is concerning that such a significant gap in care exists within the same practice. Patients should be able to expect a consistent standard of professionalism regardless of which provider they see so if planning a visit, my advice would be to request Dr. Straut.

I had testing done which was done quickly, but it was a very long wait to see the doctor.

He is thorough and treat you like his family

I have been a patient for 5 years and Dr. straut is always detailed, explains things so they make sense and provides options for care when needed. My only complaint is not with the care or the Dr., but there is usually a significant wait time, so plan that into your busy schedule. I would recommend Dr. straut for anyone looking for general eye care, plus they have specialist that are in the same group which makes those more complicated eye problems easier to schedule within the same practice.

Was a pleasure having my eyes operated on for cataracts and implant lenses in my eyes.

For how crazy busy Dr. Darlington is, he seemed to give me his attention and didn't make me feel hurried. He answered any questions I had until I didn't have any more questions. Just a heads up, at the Melbourne office, when he is there, the parking is quite a challenge.

The surgery did not work. It damaged my eye.The vision in my left eye is blurry with "floaters". I cannot read with my left eye. It is too blurry. My eye is much more sensitive to light now. Sudden bright light makes it more blurry. The surgery was supposed to to make my eye less sensitive to light so I could drive at night! It is worse now when I ride at night when my wife drives. I am afraid to drive at all! Also, I also sometimes get bright light flashes on the left edge of my eye. Dr.Darlington told me he had put in the wrong lense! He told me it happens sometimes! He said he needed to do another operation to put in another lense! And that he had to do it within 3 months or it would be too "healed"! He also warned me that not all doctors knew how to do it correctly! After what he did! What am I supposed to do now? My quality of life is greatly affected! Do you honestly think I'm going to let him do another surgery?

I was concerned about my left eye seeing blurry, after having cataract surgery over a year ago. After going through a series of tests, I was happy to learn it is lens cloudiness. My experience with the exam was very positive. Dr Strout was very encouraging. I had a stroke which compromises my vision. He assured me that my new glasses will help a lot in working around my loss. I needed that assurance. In a situation like this, you need encouragement.

I had cataract surgery on both eyes. I had absolutely no issues after surgery. I wish I'd had the surgery sooner. I can see without glasses for the first-time in years. I highly recommend Dr. Darlington for your eye care at Atlantic Eye Consultants.

Parking in the middle of the day is horrible and waiting an hour and 15 minutes for a scheduled appointment is disappointing. But, we value Dr darlington's care and made our appointment for early in the day on a Monday.

I had cataract surgery and was very impressed with how my surgeries went. Support staff and nurses were very cordial and thoughtful. The twilight anesthesia worked real well, went from remembering getting prepped to your wife is here to take you home.

Dr. Straut is an amazing optometrist, he really has the ability to explain what is happening to your vision/eye in terms you can understand. He uses diagrams and visualizations to clarify your understanding of the situation and what ways you can change it. I have found all of the Staff at all 3 offices (PB, Melbourne and Suntree) to be good natured, friendly and outgoing. They “know their stuff,” can answer questions about procedures and tests and are experts at keeping the office visit procedures moving.

My experience was very good,. The staff members at the surgery center are all very efficient and pleasant. They make you as comfortable as possible. The surgery goes quickly. My first eye went very well, but the second was cloudy the day after surgery. Dr Darlington was not alarmed and recommended extra eyedrops, which cleared up the problem. Incredible experience. He's one of the few doctors I've had who actually listens. Also he was not offended when I brought up specific tests and diagnoses as possibilities from my own knowledge and studies. Most doctors have too much ego to allow that. He was thorough and efficient at getting to the cause and treatment. He communicates extremely well and has great bedside manners. His medical staff was very efficient and personable. The front office staff was more than accommodating and nice. I highly recommend Dr Matisse and this clinic. And those who know me realize that I do not give out such recommendations easily.

My appointment was 11:20an. I was there 10 minutes in respect for others time. I was called back at 11:40am for a test. Sent back to the waiting room until 12:10pm and then brought back for another test with drops. I was plopped back in the waiting room again with the other 25 patients waiting in the same doctor until 12:45pm. Finally saw the doctor at 1pm for 3 minutes. Way over scheduled and not one person from the office apologized or updated me. Not a professional office at all.

Always pleased with the care by Dr Mandese. Only complaint is appt times are often a suggestion. Most times it can take up to an hour past your appointment to finally get to see the doctor. Make sure you bring something to pass the time waiting. Only once in the past few years did I see doc within 15 min of my appointment time.

Saw Dr. Mandese yesterday. My eyes have been red for two weeks. I saw my GP and told it was my allergies and the pollen. Dr. Mandese found that i had a viral infection. After using the drops he recommended my eyes are clearer and the blurriness is improving.

Everyone was very friendly and courteous. The wait was minimum, and the waiting room was not overcrowded. It was a pleasant experience.

My appointment was scheduled for 1:00 pm. I completed a test for peripheral vision and then waited and waited. About 3:30 pm I saw Dr. Darlington. When I was informed that the test did not conclude I needed an eye lift, I learned that Dr. D. was no longer going to be doing that type of surgery. I trust in Dr. Ds work and have been pleased with the implants received several years ago. My frustration is that a previous test confirmed I could get the surgery, the one on Monday past did not corroborate the same results. Three hours to learn I did not qualify this time and then to be scheduled with another Dr. in March is unacceptable.

Dr. Straut was patient, found what was wrong, and efficiently came up with a way to treat my issue. They also have sophisticated diagnostic capabilities such as pressure checking without the annoying puff in your eye (they use light, and I didn't feel a thing). I couldn't be more happy with this visit.

I have been trying to get cataract surgery in New york for two years. All I got was cancelled appointments. Came to Florida for six months over this winter. Called Dr. Darlington's office. Got an appt. In two weeks time. After that Three weeks later I had my first cataract removed. Two weeks later my second one was removed. Dr. Darlington did a great job and was a very good surgeon. Dr Jason Darlington is kind and compassionate, very detailed and my experience was very comfortable, I was suffering with so much pain and Dr Darlington was fast and efficient to relieve my pain. I already referred him to my office manager. I work for Dr Aleksander Komar and he called to check on me and said that he was very happy to hear Dr Jason Darlington helped me so quickly with a gentle approach, even fitting me into his extremely busy schedule. I am very grateful for his expertise in his profession. I rate him more than five stars

Dr Darlington is great as are the entire staff. All the testing was very efficient and fast. The technicians are so kind. They made me feel comfortable and not stressed. Only downside was the long wait to see the doctor. I think it was just the day though as they had some emergencies and harder cases to deal with. It was all worth it to see Dr Darlington.
