Very busy office but very efficient

They got me right in with a small emergency issue. Dr Straut took the extra time to explain everything even though it was busy.

I will never go back to this place! I have been to two appointments here and both appointments took over 2 hours! They seem to have no regard for their patients time and making them wait. I actually walked out of my second appointment without even seeing the doctor as I became so frustrated with the length of waiting time. What is a reasonable time to wait for a scheduled appointment?? I am always early to my appointments and respect the time of others. As far as I can see, this practice has 0 respect for the time of their patients.

I've received excellent care from Dr. Straut for several years. He is professionally very competent and excellent at explaining the implications of results, presenting options in a positive manner that is very reassuring. He is also treating my 98 year old mother in law and has shown great sensitivity in dealing with her concerns which are frequently repetitive and not reality based. Dr. Straut is monitoring a uniqueness about my right eye and continues to see me every 6 mos to take pictures, test peripheral sight, test eye pressure, check vision, and insert plugs for dry eye. Wait was a bit long but expected as new patient and they did accommodate a same day appointment after I called from a referral from my primary doctor. I called at 10:30 A.M. and they had me come in at noon same day. The entire staff and Dr. D were great.

During this last visit, he analyzed my latest problem and carefully performed measurements using a prism to see how far off one eye is from the other. He noticed a significant difference and is making adjustments for my next set of corrective lenses. Thank you Dr. Straut!

I’m visiting the area and I woke up with something in my eye. Atlantic Eye Consultants got me in that day and Dr. Straut was able to get whatever was in my eye out.

The surgical procedure was quite streamlined the nurses were informative about what was to happen. They were professional and concerned with my care. While I was told I would not be totally under anesthesia, I didn’t remember the actual surgery. The next thing I realized I was asked to get up after a clear eye protector was taped over my eye. The procedure was quick and painless.

Everything was fine with all the data gathering and the folks who did it were well organized and knowledgeable. My only negative comment concerns this physical I need to undergo n Friday morning. I just had my annual physical with Dr. Ireland on Friday 1/9 with excellent results. This Friday session seems like a waste of time and money.

Dr. Darlington and his staff are a professional group of individuals willing to be with the patient as little as possible. The time spent with the patient is a minimum at best. Knowing that the hand of the staff member is with you and on the door knob trying to leave as quickly as possible is very uncomfortable for the patient and I assume this is the policy of the office so mentioning this lack of empathy for the patient care is also a matter of policy for the office. I will continue to be a patient , once a year is not hurtful.

Dr Darlington knew my eye issues before he walked into my room. That tells me all his patients are important to him. His staff is polite, thorough and helpful.

So I was very concerned and changed Eye Doctor and went to Dr. Mandese and he found out it was a freckle. I felt so much better and has been going to him ever since. Eye drops are always difficult with children and we have experienced our fair share over the years. The staff was so aware of the struggles and made it very easy for our child. It was actually a Very warm appointment and I don’t think my child or myself will dread the next annual visit like we have elsewhere.

The staff is helpful, clear in describing what they are doing, and patient when I cannot decide which screen is better. Dr. Strait is always clear about my eyes, the condition of my lenses, and what can be done in the future if they get worse. Although the office was busy because two doctors were there, I still got out quickly.

Dr. Darlington performed cataract then goniotomy surgery on my left eye. The surgeries went perfectly, probably due to his 30,000+ eye surgeries worth of experience! Post surgery I had the normal annoying feeling of an eye lash being stuck, which only lasted a few hours. Then the blurriness started to go away and I could focus on distant objects and even read text before within 8 hours of the surgeries. The next day he examined my eye and everything looked and felt okay. The blurriness continued to disappear and more objects became clearer. I think that Brevard County is fortunate to have such an experienced eye specialist and surgeon available.

My experience with Dr. Darlington was not the best. He spent almost no time with me as a patient prior to the procedure and after. I left like a number as opposed to being a patient. My cataract sugery was on 9/23/25 my vision in the left eye has since deteriorated and will know probably require glasses to read small print. I am also experiencing pain in the eye which i never had before. It was only after the surgery that Dr. Darlington explained that i may have macular issues/degeneration and will not be able to have the 20/20 vision. So now i was referred to a Retina specialist who diagnosed it as as macular psuedohole and subsequentlly referred me to an optometrist to get tested for glasses. The optometrist has now put me on Prednisolone eye drops beause the eye was inflamed . The journey continues as i have to go back in to determine what glasses would work best for me.

Had an issue with my eye. Called Dr. Mandese’s office. They booked an appointment immediately, and I was seen within a few hours. After a careful exam they booked a next day appointment with a Retina Specialist for me to rule out any issue. Hoping for the best. Appreciate the immediate attention, thorough exam and follow up! I felt the care and concern of the entire office.

My appointment with Dr. Mandese was excellent. He is very compassionate and patient. Last year in July 2024 I had an issue with my right eye. Dr. Mandese authorized a CT scan to review so as to be sure there wasn't any out side issues that may have caused the problem. When I visited with him to review the information he told me that my vision was fine however he identified an aneurysm that I didn't know existed. Because of Dr Madese's keen eye my life was saved, 3 months later a 9+ mm and growing was repaired. So Dr. Mandese has my complete respect. He saved my life.

Dr. Mandese is the best! After spending over a week in the hospital suffering from excruciating headaches, double vision, and a lazy eye, I was discharged with no diagnosis. My wife had the good sense to make an appointment for me with Dr. Mandese. We actually went to his office right from the hospital. Dr. Mandese took one look at me, turned to my wife, and said that he knew exactly what was going on. However, he still took the time to do a full exam before he shared his prognosis.
