After nearly three weeks of increasing eye pain and an ongoing sense of a foreign body, Dr Darlington quickly found and removed an ingrown eyelash, fixing a problem mis-diagnosed as infection by two previous providers. I had relief in seconds. As previous reviewers have observed, there was about an hour wait, but the place was jamming. Every staff member was courteous and helpful. As a recently retired ER RN, I was pleasantly surprised with efficiency and the outcome. Excellent work.

Dr. Darlington and his staff are wonderful. I have total confidence in Dr. Darlington. I was experiencing itchy and painful symptoms in both of my eyes. Also the skin around my eyes were darkening. I went to my optometrist, general practitioner, and a dermatologist. I was getting several different diagnoses with treatment and medications. Nothing worked. I made appointment with Dr. Darlington. He walked in and said I know exactly what is going on. You are allergic to preservatives in eye drops. He prescribed new eye drops that were preservative free. Within a few days my symptoms and pain were disappearing. I would recommend without hesitation.

So far my experience with Atlantic eye consultants has been great. First visit as a new patient was this morning. They did their best to fit me in last minute because I was having terrible eye strain and headaches from my current glasses. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The eye exam was thorough. I’m starting by replacing the lenses in one pair of my computer glasses. The optical department investigated the issues I was having with my progressives (from another dr and provider). They checked them out and said the fit and prescription alignment was all wrong, no wonder I never liked them. That gives me hope. They are also doing their best to get my new lenses in as soon as possible so my headaches and strain are relived soon as I am on the computer for 9-14 hours a day. I appreciate their willingness to go above and beyond the typical service I get elsewhere.

My first experience was several years ago after an ER visit with a sever eye infection and the care following was great. He is my routine eye examination physician and I just broke my glasses and felt need for new script even though last glasses are under 2 years old.They got me in for an appointment in a day. Just yesterday I was diagnosed with cataracts so he made sure I understood I would need another script after the surgery so I wont get my new lenses made till after the cataract surgery.

Today's visit took 2.5 hrs for my yrly exam because of lengthy wait times between segments performed by the assistants before finally seeing Dr. Darlington. It was reminiscent of the unfortunate wait times when he was part of the previous eye care business, but which initially, seemed much improved with Atlantic Eye. Also, although I have been his patient for several years, it would be most reassuring and courteous if he would address the patient, me, by my name when he enters the exam room. However, i still give him five stars because, most importantly, Dr. Darlington is an excellent opthomologist and eye surgeon. Anyone can tell that he 'knows his stuff' and can and does explain any visual problems in a way one can understand along with options to resolve those issues. Thank you, Dr. Darlington

On my visit to the office June 29, 2026, I had a thorough examination of my left eye addressing the cataract. The staff was pleasant and professional Dr Darlington gave me his thoughts on the prospect of having surgery to remove the cataract and replace with a Lense in my right eye.

Dr. Mandese truly cares about his patients. He is thorough, professional, and knowledgeable. His explanation of symptoms and treatments is thorough. I will continue to have my vision taken care of by Dr. Mandese.

Dr Darlington is always professional, interactive and explains everything. He spends time listening to concerns and actually cares about his clients. He's the best not just in Brevard but in the state from what others have told me, for glaucoma and cataract surgeries. He is always keeping up with the latest technologies for all eye concerns.

The staff and the doctor are very polite and friendly. The only drawback is the time it takes on a busy day.

First off, the whole staff there is flight and very professional in their duties! Very little wait time throughout the whole process. As far as Dr. Straut goes… He’s great!! I scheduled the appointment because I thought I might be developing a secondary cataract in my left eye. The tech took me back early and conducted the most thorough eye exam I have ever had. When she checked my vision to see how my prescription was doing, she had me corrected to the clearest vision I believe I have ever had. She was extremely proficient. Dr. Mandese examined my eyes and gave me his diagnosis. I have been using him since my cataract surgery and will continue to see him in the future.

The only reason this review is not 5 stars is because of their parking situation. I'm a very good and experienced driver and I had difficulties with their site. A vehicle had blocked the lane that circled behind the building and I was forced to reverse in a very tight s curved spot. Furthermore, there was a brand new vehicle (legally parked) on my other side making it almost impossible to get out. Eventually, I had to drive my rear right tire on top of the s curve curb to get out. Luckily, I drive an SUV, but I don't believe a sedan would not fair very well. They need to address this because their patients are vision impair and would have a more difficult time navigating the same situation.

Overall, this was a good complete and thorough visit, Dr Straut is really good in explaining what is happening with my vision and what the next steps might be. I have confidence in him. However, I need to comment on the staff. They appear to be bored with their jobs. No one smiles. Everything is done quickly in dull routine with limited interaction other than going through the motions. It seems as if they do the same procedures so often that they forget there are patients to interact with. There’s a coldness with them and, frankly , in the aging facility. I like dr Straut and will return but with hope there’s more “spirit” all around.

Dr Darlington did a laser to remove a cloudy condition in a cataract replacement lens from several years ago. It all went well he and his staff are very efficient and courteous. Very thorough Dr but a very long wait (3 hrs)

Not happy with the long wait. Dr. Darlington said he’d been out for 5 weeks, well there must be a more efficient way to catch up!!??

So it took 2 1/2 hrs from the time of my appointment and when I walked out the door. No procedures, just in a couple different waiting rooms and couple eye tests; and FINALLY met up with Dr.Darlington. I complained to him about the long wait. He said he’d been “out” for 5 weeks!!?? There must be a more efficient way!!????
