Dr. Straut is an amazing optometrist, he really has the ability to explain what is happening to your vision/eye in terms you can understand. He uses diagrams and visualizations to clarify your understanding of the situation and what ways you can change it. I have found all of the Staff at all 3 offices (PB, Melbourne and Suntree) to be good natured, friendly and outgoing. They “know their stuff,” can answer questions about procedures and tests and are experts at keeping the office visit procedures moving.

From start to finish my experience was great the staff and Doctor were very professional and helpful I would recommend them to everyone.

He is a very good eye surgeon and he let you know how the surgery went.

He does a great job at letting me know how my eyes are doing and what will be the next step in my treatment.

My experience was very good,. The staff members at the surgery center are all very efficient and pleasant. They make you as comfortable as possible. The surgery goes quickly. My first eye went very well, but the second was cloudy the day after surgery. Dr Darlington was not alarmed and recommended extra eyedrops, which cleared up the problem. All is well, and I’m glad I had it done.

He Was very Thorough, polite, and friendly and explained the procedures he and his staff ordered for me during the office visit which took about 90 minutes, I would have liked him providing me some written documents about a procedure he recommended in April so I could understand it more clearly with its pros and cons.

The entire staff and proceedure was very well coordinated and professional. Only 2 days since my surgery, I'm very optimistic about the results.

Dr Darlington is the amazing. I had cataract-lasik surgery last year and 2 weeks ago he operated on my eyelids. They were drooping so bad they interfered with my peripheral vision. Incredible experience. He's one of the few doctors I've had who actually listens. Also he was not offended when I brought up specific tests and diagnoses as possibilities from my own knowledge and studies. Most doctors have too much ego to allow that. He was thorough and efficient at getting to the cause and treatment. He communicates extremely well and has great bedside manners. His medical staff was very efficient and personable. The front office staff was more than accommodating and nice. I highly recommend Dr Matisse and this clinic. And those who know me realize that I do not give out such recommendations easily.

My appointment was 11:20an. I was there 10 minutes in respect for others time. I was called back at 11:40am for a test. Sent back to the waiting room until 12:10pm and then brought back for another test with drops. I was plopped back in the waiting room again with the other 25 patients waiting in the same doctor until 12:45pm. Finally saw the doctor at 1pm for 3 minutes. Way over scheduled and not one person from the office apologized or updated me. Not a professional office at all.

You have to wait, Dr is always behind schedule. Over 45 min wait. Otherwise great experience

Dr Darlington is professional, caring and thorough.

Always pleased with the care by Dr Mandese. Only complaint is appt times are often a suggestion. Most times it can take up to an hour past your appointment to finally get to see the doctor. Make sure you bring something to pass the time waiting. Only once in the past few years did I see doc within 15 min of my appointment time.

Saw Dr. Mandese yesterday. My eyes have been red for two weeks. I saw my GP and told it was my allergies and the pollen. Dr. Mandese found that i had a viral infection. After using the drops he recommended my eyes are clearer and the blurriness is improving.

Great surgeon, talented and immensely ttliable

Dr Darlington is probably the best eye surgeon in town - at the top of his game. I have sent many of my friends to him for cataracts. He’s the only doctor I would wait over an hour to see. Yeah, he’s that good.

I will say that I'm extremely happy with the cataract surgery on my left eye, I now have 20/20 vision in the left eye! I go in for the right eye next week! Dr Darlington was amazing!

Everyone was very friendly and courteous. The wait was minimum, and the waiting room was not overcrowded. It was a pleasant experience.

My appointment was scheduled for 1:00 pm. I completed a test for peripheral vision and then waited and waited. About 3:30 pm I saw Dr. Darlington. When I was informed that the test did not conclude I needed an eye lift, I learned that Dr. D. was no longer going to be doing that type of surgery. I trust in Dr. Ds work and have been pleased with the implants received several years ago. My frustration is that a previous test confirmed I could get the surgery, the one on Monday past did not corroborate the same results. Three hours to learn I did not qualify this time and then to be scheduled with another Dr. in March is unacceptable.

I was seen for my issue within a day. The check-in process was efficient, and everyone was friendly and helpful (good sense of humor too). Dr. Straut was patient, found what was wrong, and efficiently came up with a way to treat my issue. They also have sophisticated diagnostic capabilities such as pressure checking without the annoying puff in your eye (they use light, and I didn't feel a thing). I couldn't be more happy with this visit.

I have been trying to get cataract surgery in New york for two years. All I got was cancelled appointments. Came to Florida for six months over this winter. Called Dr. Darlington's office. Got an appt. In two weeks time. After that Three weeks later I had my first cataract removed. Two weeks later my second one was removed. Dr. Darlington did a great job and was a very good surgeon. Very happy with my result.

Dr Darlington is great as are the entire staff. All the testing was very efficient and fast. The technicians are so kind. They made me feel comfortable and not stressed. Only downside was the long wait to see the doctor. I think it was just the day though as they had some emergencies and harder cases to deal with. It was all worth it to see Dr Darlington.

A bit of a wait but worth it once the staff sees you.

Dr. Darlington is always right on with his diagnoses and the treatments always work out just fine. Atlantic Eye is a vast improvement over the last group! That guy put the wrong lens in my eye after cataract removal and offered a sketchy solution so I turned to Dr Darlington and have been happy since then.

My eye is doing great and I always tell everyone about Dr. Darlington and how awesome he is. One thing I don’t like is that every time I have an appointment I get there early and I have to wait over an hour or more to be seen. I’m not retired I have a job that I can’t afford to miss 2 hours of work from so that bothers me. Thanks!

Dr Darlington and staff are friendly, caring and thorough in the testing, directions, and information they part. The Doctor went over my test and explained what needed to be done and the next steps to be taken. I trust them with issues I have with my sight.

I will never go back to this place! I have been to two appointments here and both appointments took over 2 hours! They seem to have no regard for their patients time and making them wait. I actually walked out of my second appointment without even seeing the doctor as I became so frustrated with the length of waiting time. What is a reasonable time to wait for a scheduled appointment?? I am always early to my appointments and respect the time of others. As far as I can see, this practice has 0 respect for the time of their patients.

I’m visiting the area and I woke up with something in my eye. Atlantic Eye Consultants got me in that day and Dr. Straut was able to get whatever was in my eye out.

The surgical procedure was quite streamlined the nurses were informative about what was to happen. They were professional and concerned with my care. While I was told I would not be totally under anesthesia, I didn’t remember the actual surgery. The next thing I realized I was asked to get up after a clear eye protector was taped over my eye. The procedure was quick and painless.

Everything was fine with all the data gathering and the folks who did it were well organized and knowledgeable. My only negative comment concerns this physical I need to undergo n Friday morning. I just had my annual physical with Dr. Ireland on Friday 1/9 with excellent results. This Friday session seems like a waste of time and money.

Dr. Darlington and his staff are a professional group of individuals willing to be with the patient as little as possible. The time spent with the patient is a minimum at best. Knowing that the hand of the staff member is with you and on the door knob trying to leave as quickly as possible is very uncomfortable for the patient and I assume this is the policy of the office so mentioning this lack of empathy for the patient care is also a matter of policy for the office. I will continue to be a patient , once a year is not hurtful.
